Trainyard Review

Today we’re looking at Trainyard a challenging and creative puzzle game for iOS.

Trainyard is deceptively simple in both presentation and gameplay.

This however, is a good thing in both aspects.

The visuals are minimalistic, yet extremely functional and clean.

The audio design is also fantastic, featuring high quality sounds and reverb effects that serve to create the game’s stark and echoing atmosphere.

In addition to it’s outstanding technical design, Trainyard really shines with it’s challenging puzzle gameplay.

Starting with very simple concepts and puzzles, the game slowly adds new game pieces that greatly increase the challenge and complexity.

In our opinion the learning curve in Trainyard is well paced, and avoids being too easy or frustrating most of the time.

A word of warning though:
Some of the later stages in this game are extremely intricate and complex.
Unless you’re a serious puzzle game fan, you probably won’t complete this game.

In addition to all the puzzle fun, Trainyard also offer’s the cool feature of being able to share puzzle solutions online with other players.

This is both a great way to show your accomplishments as well as get ideas from others’ solutions.

Perhaps the most impressive aspect of Trainyard is that it was created independently by a single person named Matt Rix!
Nice job Matt!

Overall Trainyard is one of the best puzzle games available in the App Store.
This is a must have for any puzzle fan.
